Clay Fab Lab | Mid-life Tech: Transitions in Teaching and Artistic Practice

The desire to introduce her undergraduate students to new processes in clay led Lisa Lockman on a journey for an understanding of contemporary technologies such as 3D printing, CNC, and laser cutting. Ironically, technology has expanded the boundaries of her ceramic practice and re-energized her teaching. This talk chronicles that journey.

Clay Fab Lab Co-Lecture | Story Hour

Over the last 10 years, the Clay Fab Lab at NCECA has become an important forum for presenting the uses and applications of digital technologies in ceramics. As we continue to collectively excavate this emergent history we're also curious about the ways in which, enfolded within even the most technical presentation, is an activity of story-telling. Kari and Del will use this 90 minute Fab-Lab presentation to unravel, illustrate, illuminate, and fictionalize ideas of technology, the digital, primary source, and history in the contemporary ceramics field.
